
Our Parent Teacher Organization is made up of a group of dedicated parents who plan events that build school community and raise funds to support the education of our students.

Events and Activities
- PTO Meetings are August, September, October, November, January, February, March, April and May
- Apparel Sales. Mater Dei logo items (some are uniform approved!) and a portion of the proceeds support our mission.
- Helping provide volunteers for the School Book Fair.
- Parade Float for Heelan High School Homecoming Parade.
- Teacher Conference Meals and Snacks (Fall and Spring.)
- Parents’ Night Out. This fun and relaxing night enables our parents to get to know each other outside of PTO meetings.
- Kids’ Night Out. This is a popular night at the school (supervised by adults and high school volunteers) so kids can have fun outside the classroom.
- Annual Fundraiser* This effort takes place in October.
- Teacher Appreciation Week. We offer theme days during this special week.
Our efforts have helped purchase new classroom maps, a Smartboard for a 5th grade classroom and reading materials for our students and the "One School One Book" program and more!
Other Ways to Raise Funds
- Box Tops for Education (please scan all receipts directly to the Box Tops App)
- Hy-Vee School Bucks Program – collect eligible receipts from a Sioux City/South Sioux City Hy-Vee Aug. 1–April 24, and turned in by April 26 each year.
- Amazon Teacher Wish Lists – ask your teacher to send her Amazon Wish List or check out our Facebook page to find the latest link.
- Target Take Charge for Education – if you are a Target Red Card holder, you can designate your school as Mater Dei School and they will donate a percentage of your sales back to the school.
- Casey’s Rewards – check it out on their App.
