What's Changing with School Meals?

Free Lunch Benefit Ended
Posted on 07/06/2022
While the federal government allowed schools to offer free meals to all school students in the nation during the pandemic, Congress did not extend this benefit for next school year.

Families that are eligible for free or reduced-price meals must apply to receive them, according to Kristen Malenosky, district school nutrition director. Other students who purchase lunch must pay full price for their meals.

The application process for free and reduced-price meals opened July 1, and families are encouraged to fill out an application to check for eligibility.

The income guidelines were raised in hopes of capturing more families who may be eligible.

Free and Reduced applications can be found inside the webpage HERE. Parents with questions are encouraged to call the lunch program manager of their student's school.

Payments for lunch can be made to student accounts on Infinite Campus at anytime.
