Top Heelan Vocalists Make All State

Twelve top vocal students and three band students at Bishop Heelan High School have been chosen to perform at the 75th Annual Iowa All-State Festival in Ames, Iowa Nov. 18-20, 2021.

It is a record number for Bishop Heelan vocal and band students in the past 10 years for an event designed to spotlight the best high school music talent in Iowa. 

Students chosen for the elite music event are: Audrey Johnson, Madilyn Cramer, Brooklynn Roder, Liz Mullins, Kaleb Carda, Jacob Oldenkamp, Tommy Osborn, Jake Wiest, Henry Osborn, Delaney Andreasen, Asia Keane and Erick Carlberg.

Band students who earned the honor of performing at the festival are, with their instruments: Kayla Jabre, oboe; Matthew Lin, clarinet and Cahill Kirkpatrick, euphonium.

The Iowa All-State Music Festival, will be held at Iowa State Center in Ames and concludes with a major concert Saturday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Hilton Coliseum. 

Over 4,000 of the most talented high school musicians in Iowa audition for the all state chorus and over 600 are chosen. Presented by the Iowa High School Music Association and Music Educators Association, All State involves six audition locations in Iowa and hundreds of adjudicators and parent and community volunteers.
