It’s "Merry Christmas" for Holy Cross, Mater Dei and Sacred Heart School teachers in the form of 12 Excellence in Education classroom grants totaling over $7100 to benefit student learning and safety.
The grants are awarded by the Siouxland Community Foundation to support K-5 teachers in local public and private schools. BHCS elementary teachers applied by Nov. 1 for these grants listed below:

The community foundation helped Bishop Heelan High School and some 90 area non-profits raise over $100,000 though Siouxland Big Give, a one day of giving blitz.
The foundation administers over 150 charitable funds, established by donors, and awards nearly 350 grants and scholarships yearly to Siouxland nonprofit organizations and college-bound seniors, (including Heelan seniors.) It supports education, arts and culture, health care, the environment, community betterment and more.
