A senior class of 102 will graduate from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in a commencement ceremony Sunday, May 22 at 2 p.m. at the Orpheum Theatre. Baccalaureate will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at St. Michael's Church for the graduates.

At commencement Valedictorian Jakob Wiest and Salutatorian Joseph Meyer will formally address the Class of 2022. 

Student Council President Mia Conley will lead her class in the Prayer to St. Francis, and senior vocalist Asia Keane will sing the Ave Maria, accompanied by Bob Barry. The program will include recorded music by the Heelan High School Band.

The ceremony will include Bishop R. Walker Nickless, Bishop Heelan School System President Dr. John Flanery, Bishop Heelan High School’s Principal Christian Bork, Dean of Students Ben Mohning and Chaplain Fr. Shane Deman. 

Dr. Flanery and Bishop Nickless will both address the graduates and guests.

2022 Class Highlights:  
▪ 95% have indicated that they will pursue post-secondary education; 79% have indicated that they will enroll in four-year institutions.
▪ Grads have been offered $9.98 million in academic scholarships.
▪ 42 students graduated with honors (40% of the class).
▪ 17 students were recognized for graduating with a weighted GPA of over 4.0.
▪ 50% were recognized for graduating with 60 hours or more of community service hours.
