Annual food service project returns

High school and elementary students of Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools will gather in the CYO of Bishop Heelan High School on Wednesday, March 15, from 7:35 a.m. till 2:10 p.m. to assemble over 100,000 nutritious meals for the poor in Honduras as part of the annual “Then Feed Just One” program.

March featured with Haydn & Brahms on Feb. 18

Three top artists in the world are performing on their hometown stage for the Sioux City Symphony over the next few weeks, all Bishop Heelan graduates. Chelist Stephanie March gets the trio started with a performance, “Hadyn & Brahms, featuring Stephanie March,” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Orpheum. Opera tenor John Osborn and Academy Award nominee Ron Clements follow.

BHCS Prepares for Impact of ESAs

With the Students First Act now law in the state of Iowa, families can now choose the education that best meets their child’s needs. The Students First Act was passed in both the Iowa House and Senate and signed into law by Governor Kim Reynolds in late January. Educational Savings Accounts (ESA's) will now be a reality for Iowa families beginning with the 23-24 school year and beyond.

Grace I Nelson is Rotary Student of the Month
12/12/2022
Grace I. Nelson, daughter of Nic and Michelle Nelson of Sioux City, is the December Student of the Month for the Rotary Club of Sioux City. Despite being confined to a wheelchair her entire life she is living high school to the fullest -- performing in Heelan’s show choir, vocal music, plays and musicals. She is a member of Spanish club and Miracle Makers.
