Hall of PRIDE

The Bishop Heelan Athletic Department is in its second year of inducting a Hall of PRIDE class after inducting 10 into the inaugural year in 2022.

In 2023, the Crusaders will welcome six new graduates into the class. The 2023 Hall of PRIDE inductees are:

- Bernie Schreiber, 1951
- Mike Grace, 1963
- Ken Schlezes, 1969
- Greg Vondrak, 1971
- Joe Bisenius, 2001
- Michelle Lund, 2008

The 2023 Hall of PRIDE ceremony is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Sioux City Convention Center. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m., while the ceremony starts at 6:45.

Class of 2022

Ten Heelan grads, representing achievement in a variety of sports in every decade of Heelan history, were inducted into the first Bishop Heelan Hall or PRIDE during banquet Oct. 8, 2022.

Those honored were:

- Mike Courey, 1977 (deceased)
- John Harty, 1977
- Don Wengert, 1988

- Nate Funk, 2002
- Carli (Tritz) Berger, 2010

Alumni are eligible for the Hall of PRIDE five years after graduation. Criteria includes All State, State Champions, Post High School Achievement and those who have made exceptional contributions to Heelan athletic programs.
