For generations, Catholic education in Siouxland has been shaped by parishes, religious sisters, priests, educators, and families who understood that academic excellence means little if it is not anchored in faith, family, knowledge, and service. From humble beginnings in parish classrooms to today’s unified school system, Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools have remained steadfast in this mission.

A Legacy Built on Faith and Sacrifice

Our schools exist because generations before us believed deeply in Catholic education and were willing to sacrifice to make it possible. They built schools not just to teach children how to read and write, but to teach them who they are and whose they are.

Faith has always been at the center of our identity. Daily prayer, sacramental life, moral formation, and service to others are not additions to our schools—they are woven into everything we do.

A Unified PK–12 Vision

Today, Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools stand as one integrated PK–12 system, uniting multiple elementary campuses and one high school under a shared mission, shared standards, and shared purpose.

This intentional unity allows us to:

  • Ensure strong academic alignment and smooth transitions

No matter which campus a student begins on, they are part of one Crusader family from preschool through senior year.
