Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools is a unified Catholic school system serving families across Siouxland through one high school and four elementary schools, all working together to provide a seamless, faith-filled educational journey from preschool through graduation.

Rather than operating as disconnected buildings, our schools are intentionally aligned. Curriculum, faith formation, and student support are designed to flow together so students experience consistency, belonging, and growth at every stage.

Our School System at a Glance

Bishop Heelan Catholic High School

  • One centralized high school campus

  • Serves students in grades 9 through 12

  • Prepares students academically, spiritually, and socially for college, career, and vocation

Holy Cross  School

Holy Cross operates across two locations, intentionally designed to support student development at each stage:

  • St. Michael’s location – PK through 2nd grade

  • Blessed Sacrament location – 3rd through 8th grade

This structure allows younger students to learn in a nurturing early-elementary environment while older students grow into leadership roles as they prepare for high school.

Mater Dei School

Mater Dei also serves students across two campuses:

  • Immaculate Conception location – PK through 4th grade

  • Nativity location – 5th through 8th grade

Students benefit from developmentally appropriate spaces while remaining connected through shared faith, values, and academic expectations.

Sacred Heart School

  • Serves students from PK through 8th grade in one location

  • Offers a strong sense of community with consistent relationships, faith formation, and academic rigor from early childhood through middle school

Cathedral Dual Language Academy (CDLA)

  • Serves students from PK through 5th grade

  • Offers a dual language model that fosters bilingualism, cultural awareness, and academic excellence within a Catholic educational framework
