Campaign Update

During the first phase of the campaign for a new Heelan we have made the following accomplishments:

  • Ø  We have recruited our campaign leadership.

  • Ø  The case for support has been established and we are waiting on final drawings and site plans.

  • Ø  Early leadership gifts of $100,000 or more have been documented and more are being solicited

As we have more information and site plans, we will share them with you in person, on our website and, eventually, through the media.  For now, we are happy to report that we are gathering strong support and that we are very excited about the direction of this campaign.

  • Shake, Rattle & Auction '08 results:
Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools Surpassed Auction Goal Again!

Friends of Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools continued to show their unwavering commitment by attending this year’s dinner, auction and dance, “Shake, Rattle & Auction” on April 19. The total net event proceeds were $470,000 and will be targeted toward academics, technology, vocal and instrumental music, and the Teacher’s Salary Endowment Fund. A record crowd attended this year! Over 780 people attended the event held at the Sioux City Convention Center.  This year’s goal was set at $400,000.

“I wish to thank all who made this year’s auction a success; our sponsors, those who donated items, the many volunteers, and those who attended. Our success depends on the involvement of the entire Siouxland community. The record crowd and participation at this year’s event is a positive reflection of the great work that is being done in our schools,” said Father Patrick Walsh, president of Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools.

This year’s auction chairs were Brad and Jennifer (Collins) Clay. Their children attend Sacred Heart School and they are both Bishop Heelan graduates (’91 and ’92). Thanks to our wonderful chairs & all the volunteers for making this night a huge success!
