Ann is a graduate of Central City High School in Central City, Nebraska. She has a bachelor of arts degree in early childhood education from the College of St. Mary. Ann also has endorsements in reading from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and an endorsement in Elementary Education from Morningside College .

Ann taught at Seward Public Schools in Seward, Nebraska;  Republican City School in Republican City, Nebraska;  Broken Bow Public School in Broken Bow, Nebraska. She has been with BHCS for 17 years. 

Ann is married to Jim, who is employed at WIT. They have two children: Mark and John.
