Nancy graduated from Clay Central High School. She has a bachelor's degree in elementary education with reading and language arts endorsements from Teikyo-Westmar Unviersity.

Nancy taught at Guided Discoveries outdoor science center in Idyllwild , CA in 1992 and then went to Clay Central-Everly for two years, teaching middle school language arts and United States history

Nancy joined BHCS in 1996. She is married to William Metcalf.
