Excellence in Academics
Bishop Heelan High School students are exposed to a rigorous curriculum that prepares them for college studies. Some 93% of our graduates go on to college, 83% to four-year colleges and universities. Our ACT scores consistently rank above 23.  Heelan students also score higher than students in Iowa for College Readiness Benchmarks in English, mathematics, reading and science.

Hours for Graduation
Bishop Heelan students are required to successfully complete 44 credit hours for graduation. Beginning with the class of 2019, students will be required to successfully complete 48 credit hours for graduation.

Class Rank
Bishop Heelan High School uses a weighted 4.0 grading system in calculating a cumulative GPA for students & class rank.
