Morningside area of Sioux City and has served the youth of that area for 100 years, giving them the opportunity of a Gospel based education of academic excellence.

Today Mater Dei has two educational centers. Kindergarten though fifth grade students are instructed at the Immaculate Conception Center, a new facility opened in 2000. Middle school students in grades six through eight attend the Nativity Center. Both facilities are handicap accessible with modern classrooms including science, art, music and technology classrooms.

The physical environment at both buildings emphasizes our Catholic identity but it is the warm welcoming respectful atmosphere provided by our dedicated faculty and staff that makes Mater Dei special from the moment one walks into the Centers.

Gospel values are infused throughout every academic subject. With up to date curriculum and textbooks the teachers use variety of instructional strategies to meet every child's instructional needs. The Middle School students have a challenging curriculum that includes pre-algebra, algebra, Spanish, accelerated reading, art, vocal and instrumental music classes. They are provided the opportunity to develop interrelational skills through guidance classes and leadership team and sports.

Prayer and service are at the core of our daily activities with our school family. Students at both centers actively participate in the planning and ministries of the weekly liturgies.

Parents, grandparents, parishioners and alumni are all key supporters of events, programs and happenings at Mater Dei. Some of which are Grandparents/Special Friends Days, Mardi Gras, Christmas and spring music programs, speech contests, science, cultural and history fairs and K-5 track day.

I invite you to visit our Mater Dei educational centers and join our community of faith in continuing the excellent tradition of Catholic education for our children.
