Kathy is a graduate of Laurens High School in Laurens, IA. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology and elementary education from Briar Cliff University. Kathy taught fifth grade at Blessed Sacrament Center from 1979-1982. She stayed at home with her family and resumed teaching at the school in 1997. Kathy is married to Mike, who is a financial planner for American Express Financial Services. They have four children: Brian, Tricia, Stephen and Sean, all who attended or are attending Bishop Heelan High School.
