Menus
² Check out the monthly lunch menu online by visiting this Bishop Heelan website, then clicking on "Lunch menus" on the left.
Fruit & Veggie Bar
² Fruit & Veggie Bar - All students purchasing the regular school lunch may have extra servings from the fruit & veggie bar: fresh fruit, canned fruit, fresh vegetables, bread, and peanut butter, at no charge. All extra servings of these items are free. With entrée choices and the unlimited fruit & veggie bar, no student should be hungry unless they choose to be hungry!
Extra Entrée – Extra Milk
² All Students, at an extra cost, can purchase an additional entrée or milk offered as part of the school lunch program. For example if a student wants a second entrée, or an additional entrée, like a slice of pizza, then that entrée can be selected in the lunch line and charged to the student’s account. Extra entrees are only sold to students who first purchase a school lunch. Again, all students can have extra servings of canned fruit, fresh fruit, vegetables, salads, bread, and peanut butter at no charge. All extra servings of these items are free. If a student is free or reduced they may receive one entrée with their meal but they must have money in their account to purchase any extra entrees.
Snacks
² There is an important change to take note of this year. Students will be required to purchase a meal before they can purchase anything a la carte, with the exception of milk or bottled water. This is to keep the focus on nutritional meals and healthy lifestyle choices. A limited selection of healthy snacks will be available for purchase at the cashier stations of the serving lines. These items will be charged to student accounts, and cash will not be accepted for snack items in the serving line. Items offered include: fruit juices, fruit roll-ups, cereal bars, and other healthy snacks. Items offered in the lunch line will only be sold to students who first purchase a meal and the cost for these items may be deducted from the student’s lunch account. Students bringing sack lunches may also purchase these items, if they come through the line with their lunch prior to sitting in the dining area.
Breakfast Items
² There are breakfast a la carte items for sale at the CYO building lobby window beginning at 7:00 a.m., including 100% juices, milks, Otis Spunkmeyer® muffins, PopTarts®. These items can be charged to student accounts also.
School Lunch Account
² Families are encouraged to visit with their students about their school lunch account and set any limits necessary. To assist parents with monitoring their student’s lunch account activity, please call the please call the food service director, Kerry Steele, and request a detailed statement if needed. All students can and will be informed of their account balance in the lunch line. The School will not allow students to charge against the account. When an account balance is below $10.00, students receive three reminders to bring lunch money. When an account is too low for the purchase of a lunch, all purchases will stop. If the student is a free student they still will be able to receive a school lunch, but no extra entrée or snack sales will be allowed. Students will not be allowed to purchase any extra items unless they have money in their account. If families wish to restrict what their student can purchase in terms of snacks or other a la carte foods, please contact the food service director for assistance.
Diet Modifications
² Families are responsible for notifying the School Food Service if their child requires a diet modification because of a life threatening disability. A licensed physician must provide specific written medical documentation. Please contact the School Food Service office for more information.
Join us Anytime!
² Please feel free to join your child for lunch on any day. The cost for an adult lunch is $2.80. We hope to see you there!
