Ways to Give

Ways to Give

  • Bequest - Bequest through a Will is the most common way of making a planned gift.
  • Life Insurance - By using Life Insurance to make a charitable gift it is often possible to make a gift larger than ever thought possible.
  • Charitable Gift Annuity - Charitable Gift annuities are among the oldest and most simplified ways of giving. You can receive a fixed annuity payment each year for life.
  • Charitable Remainder Trust - Remainder Trusts make it possible for a donor to make a gift, receive a charitable deduction and receive income for life.
  • Charitable Lead Trust - Charitable Lead Trusts provide the donor a way of making a charitable contribution and at the same time pass property on to the family members at the lowest possible gift tax rate.

Where to Give The endowment funds below are held at the Catholic School Foundation at the Diocese of Sioux City for the benefit of Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools.

  • General Endowment Fund This fund was established in 1984 under the leadership of Fr. Victor Raemaker with diocesan support and a large lead gift from the Metz family.
  • Msgr. A.J.Elbert Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund This fund pays tribute to Msgr. Armand Joseph Elbert, former Heelan superintendent who gave of himself to Heelan.
  • Teacher Salary Endowment This fund recognizes the dedication of our teachers and enables our teachers to receive well-deserved annual salary increases of amounts higher than would have been possible.

Designating Your Gift All planned gifts (including bequests, life income agreements, and gifts of retirement plans), unless otherwise designated, are added to our General Endowment Fund. Unrestricted gifts to the General Endowment Fund provides the most flexibility as to how your gift will be used.
