Our Elementary Schools Enjoyed Success 2016-17
• Our elementary test scores again ranked high in reading, mathematics, and science.
• Nearly 1100 PK-8th students continued to grow in their Catholic faith.
• Students in grades 5-8 joined high school students in hitting the milestone of 1 million meals in eight years for “Then Feed Just One” for the poor in for Honduras.
• We added a second preschool class at Holy Cross School.
• A transitional kindergarten has opened at Mater Dei School.

High School Progress Can be Seen in our Building and Hard-working Students

• We are building a new 55,000 sq. ft. Classroom Addition to connect with our new Fine Arts Building. It opens in January 2018.

• Our high school juniors scored 95% proficient or higher in reading, mathematics, and science on the Iowa Assessments, a vital testing tool for all students in Iowa.
• Our 2017 graduating class included National Merit Commended students and past years have included semi-finalists and finalists.
• Heelan's Quiz Bowl Team won the conference championship and came in as state runner-up.
• Heelan girls and boys finished winning seasons in football, basketball, soccer, and softball. Boys baseball and Girls volleyball competed in their state tournaments.
• Colleges offered our 2017 graduating seniors $8 million in academic and athletic scholarships.
• Over 90% of our 2017 graduates were awarded scholarships for college
