Jay is a graduate of Boyden-Hull High School in Hull, IA. He has his bachelor's degree in history and secondary education from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. He has his master's degree in educational leadership from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. Before coming to Bishop Heelan in 2004, Jay taught at South Hamilton Middle and High School in Jewell, IA. Jay is also the assistant men's basketball coach at Briar Cliff University.
