Tom Betz - Head Coach

Tom Betz enters his 7th season on the Crusader bench.  Coach Betz has an impressive 114-32 (.781) record at the helm of the Crusaders including a pair of 3A Runner-up teams in 2002 and 2007.  Coach Betz is a graduate of Heelan (85) and also played collegiately at Morningside (89).  Betz served as an assistant for several years under Doug Moody before taking over the reins in 2002.  Betz is the director of admissions and alumni relations for the Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools system.  He and his wife Julie have three kids.

Andy Foster - Assistant Coach

Andy Foster is in his third season as a Crusader assistant.  He attended high school in Caledonia, Minnesota, where his high school teams won a state championship his senior year and only lost 5 times in his four years on the varsity.  He was a first team All-state performer in Minnesota and honorable mention in football.  Foster played basketball  for the legendary Don Meyer at Northern State University and was an assistant coach at Augustana (SD) for two seasons.  Foster is a P.E. teacher at Bishop Heelan High School and also is an assistant A.D.  He and his wife Jesse live in Sioux City.
